Master Class
Safety Facilitation : Leading at the Edge

We often think about Safety Management as having the knowledge and skills to manage risk. Risks that can inhibit our ability to work, impact or critically disrupt organisational endeavours, harm people, or even attract serious consequences. But what if there was another way to think about Safety Management?

What if Safety was simply about recognising and investing time in good facilitation?

About knowing how to create the conditions for essential conversations, meaningful learning and better decisions to support individual performance, strengthen teams and sustain organisational goals.

What if, alongside managing risk, we thought about :

  • Opportunity to bring people together around a common purpose.

  • To shine a light on hidden concerns and fears.

  • To surface the essential insights and experiences of teams.

  • To create opportunities for learning, and to understand the very conditions that may increase the potential for risks to be realised in the first place.

We will explore the idea of and ask how safety thinking might expand the facilitator's toolbox.

Together, we'll explore how the principles of safety can open new possibilities for supporting people, teams and organisations to learn, adapt and grow, while helping to normalise the practices that strengthen systems and mature safety performance.

Because sometimes safety isn't about mitigating the pointy end of the stick, the thing that might cause us harm, or about leaders having all the right answers.

This workshop is for organisational leaders seeking to influence workplace culture; managers looking for new ways to safeguard and support their teams; and facilitators who already bring a facilitation toolbox to the workplace and are looking to expand their scope, capability and contribution.

Come curious. Bring your experience. Let's explore what happens when we put facilitation at the heart of safety.
