What we know today might be obsolete tomorrow.
The skill(s) we have mastered today will be performed at higher speed and quality by robots tomorrow.
The quality of secondary research done by AI will be better than that done by PhD interns.
Today's mainstream education system was, in good part, a response to the Industrial Revolution. Our society is at the cusp of a paradigm shift once again. Shouldn't the education system be remodeled once again?
If you agree with even of half of these statements, then this workshop is for you!
This hands-on workshop explores an ancient treasure chest hidden in plain sight. We will probe into the education principles and methods in this chest with the aim of shaping a new astra to tackle the emerging challenges of education.
At the end of the workshop, participants can expect to walk away with some practical, easy-to-implement and easy-to-evolve techniques that they can start incorporating in their education philosophy. Most importantly, the workshop aims to pique your curiosity to go through all the different ways you could play with this chest!

"I was motivated to see children in the stories take initiative and collaborate, it built my belief that I have the potential to create change in my community despite my age." - Preeti, Student
In todayÕs dynamic world, our children need an education that is aligned with the realities of the world we live in. They need opportunities to practice the skills and dispositions required to thrive.
We invite educators, curriculum designers, and champions of socio-emotional learning to join us in designing learning experiences that embrace experiential and culturally responsive learning. Through immersive activities and reflections, we will explore integrating academic learning with interpersonal skills like collaboration, leadership, and creative problem-solving.
Drawing from our first-hand experience with students, educators, and communities in the rural foothills of the Himalayas, we will share principles, insights, and resources for designing locally relevant impactful learning experiences. Together, we will delve into the art of contextualisation and localisation, ensuring that education resonates deeply with the learners.
Post the workshop, participants will also have access to practical tools to support continuous learning. Additionally, we will invite participants to become part of a supportive community committed to fostering meaningful learning experiences in education.
We request participants to bring along a 100-150-word story (print or digital copy) that is relevant to their students and the context they work in and around which a learning plan can be created.
Srinidhi Lakshmanan discovered her love for learning from and working with children more than ten years ago. From learning by doing to learning by experiencing - learning in classrooms today needs to be
inspired by and connected to the world outside to make it relevant and impactful. Experiential
learning needs to supplement and reinforce the concepts in the curriculum and not just be
included as fun activities. When done as extra activities, it often becomes an additional burden
on the teacher and eats into precious time for teaching and completing the syllabus.
Unfortunately, most teaching-learning processes in schools remain in the activity and fun phase
and are not maximising the power of experiences for deep reflective learning. Often they don't
measure and review learning and impact with appropriate tools.
The workshop will focus on participants becoming -
¥ aware of how learning experiences can be integrated into the curriculum
¥ inspired with ideas that can become a part of their curriculum through experiences in the
class, outside and at home
¥ confident with tools and examples to do so
Neha Pradhan Arora has worked in the education and development sector for over 20 years with a focus on building collective responsibility and transforming children, teachers and learning spaces, through dialogue and learning experiences. She has been designing learning experiences in classrooms and outside to help children and youth understand their local contexts and complex concepts from the curriculum, while building capacity of teachers to do the same. A social worker and teacher, she is also the co-founder of Mudita Foundation that works on the issues of safety and protection of women, youth and children from abuse, violence and exploitation.

In the context of Experiential Education with Early Childhood Education and Care and Foundational Stage (3 to 8-year-olds), we often hear (verbally or in spirit) ÒEE is not for this age group.Ó This workshop intends to bust that myth.

Peble - Phenomenal Experience Based Learning

Chief Learning Officer, Educator
PEBLE is An integrated holistic learning through Phenomenon based experiential learning methods. Learning in children basically is associated with curiosity, observation, imitation, improvisation and application. Our pedagogy at Agile Shaala emphasizes on these aspects which stimulates and nurtures effective continuous learning in children and educators shaping them to become pebbles (getting smooth by constantly allowing self to the stream of knowledge).
Phenomenal experience based integrated learning at Agile Shaala involves
Learning about the real world by being in the real world, project led exploration, applied thinking.
This enables children go beyond subject barriers, where they dwell into the ocean of continuous inquiry driven learning by choosing a real-life phenomenon and work on skills associated with that phenomenon. This helps them approach a topic holistically, in an integrated manner and helps them develop applied thinking and socio-emotional grounding. Children present their work at the end of the week using various ways like power points, posters, charts, illustrations, journalism, skit/drama, singing, drawing etc. These presentations which happen in our class rooms and open houses enable children to identify their strengths and interests. Children get curious to know how other children have approached the same topic with a different question in mind.
Our findings (with around 75 children who have so far participated in our program):
Children enjoy and effectively learn during this week transforming themselves towards becoming self-directed and independent learners, children and educators (educators who are authentically involved in the learning process) have developed higher level of curiosity and questioning skills, children are able to apply their learning and knowledge effectively to find solutions for the problems in real world in day to day life, participating in the class room and open house presentations have sharpened listening skills and focus span in children, going beyond textbooks and syllabus making learning a continuous process.
I am Dr Nagashree Shrivatsa, a passionate educator and a parent. I have worked and learnt with children of various age groups and parents from different background. I believe learning is a natural process and providing space for children to consciously work in this direction makes them self learners. I believe to learn, we must build muscles to unlearn equally. I also enjoy my role as a parenting coach and a life coach. I am a music, finearts, wildlife and sports enthusiast. Making a difference in peoples life is the context of my life. Universe is the boundary.
